This work reinterprets a familiar image through bright color and raised texture, with the crocheted form invisibly stitched to the canvas.
Along the perimeter, amorphous, blob-like edging breaks away from the canvas’s rectangular boundary. The irregular silhouette makes the image feel as though it is pushing beyond its support rather than remaining contained by it.
The piece is finished with my signature embroidered directly onto the canvas, making even the act of signing part of its fiber construction.
