For Splat #3, I wanted to work mostly in pinks, blues, and purples while giving one motif a contrasting color that would immediately stand out. That idea became the bright yellow eyes scattered among the cooler colors.
As I created the dangling elements, I started seeing frogs, lizards, and other strange swamp creatures in them, so I leaned into that feeling. One section became a mouth-like form with a uvula and a long tongue tied in a knot, accompanied by a dangling insect creature.
This piece challenged me to see how many different elements I could bring together. Small loops, knots, eyes, limbs, and winding sections overlap and pass through one another until the separate forms become part of the same strange little ecosystem.
